




AMES, Iowa - The 13th-ranked Iowa State women's basketball team (26-8, 13-5 Big 12) earned a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament and is set to face Missouri State (24-9, 16-2 MVC) in the second round on Monday, March 25 at 8 p.m. on ESPN. Iowa State defeated New Mexico State 97-61 in the first round, grabbing ISU's first NCAA win since 2013. Iowa State is looking to advance to its first Sweet 16 since 2010.
Iowa State also looks to tie the school record for wins in a season with a victory over the Lady Bears on Monday. Iowa State reached 27 wins three times in program history, most recently in 2008-09. The Cyclones also have a chance to tie the record for wins in Hilton Coliseum in a single season, as the Cyclones won a school-record 18 games at home in 2009-10.

- ISU checks in at No. 13 in the final AP Top 25 poll and also ranked No. 13 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, both mark season highs for ISU. The No. 13 ranking is the highest final AP ranking since finishing 10th in 2002.
- Carleton (2,111) is currently second in school history in scoring, she is 39 points away from passing all-time scoring leader, Angie Welle (2,149). She also holds the school record in scoring average, netting 17.2 points per game in her career and counting.
- Carleton's 729 points this season is a new single-season scoring record. She is also on pace to break the ISU single-season scoring average also set by Welle in 2002 (20.5 PPG), as she is averaging 21.4 PPG. - Ashley Joens, who was named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team, has connected on 72 3-pointers this season, which ranks first all-time among ISU freshmen. Joens needs just six more to rank 10th in the ISU record book for triples made in a single season.
- Iowa State had four Cyclones honored by the league's coaches with Carleton being named the Player of the Year and a unanimous All-Big 12 first-team selection for the third-straight season.
