PHOENIX – The Iowa State men's golf team finished seventh at the ASU Thunderbird with a 54-hole total of 855.
No. 2 Arizona State, the tournament host, won the team title at 832, 12 shots better than No. 7 Texas at 844.
The field was littered with nationally-ranked teams, as the Cyclones are among 10 teams in the 14-team field ranked in the nation's top-50 according to Golfstat. The top-two teams in the nation - #1 Oklahoma State, #2 Arizona State – are among the teams competing.
Lachlan Barker led the Cyclones by tying for 16th at 212. Barker rallied with a 69 in the final round, posting three birdies and just one bogey.
Frank Lindwall and Tripp Kinney tied for 18th at 213. Lindwall capped off his tournament by going 2-under in the final 36 holes (69-71).
Next up for the Cyclones is the Big 12 Championship, April 26-28 in Whilte Sulpher Springs, W.V.
