Bright Receives National Award From CABMA

AMES, Iowa – Former Iowa State Senior Associate Athletics Director Julie Bright received the Kenneth E. Farris, Sr. Award from the College Athletic Business Management Association (CABMA) this week.
The award is given for lifetime achievement in the field of athletics business management.
Bright joined the Iowa State Athletics Department in 2006 and served as Iowa State's Senior Associate Athletics Director for Administration until her retirement in 2018.
Bright was a pioneer in the collegiate business profession and a member of CABMA for 34 years.
During her time at Iowa State, Bright had direct oversight of accounting services, business services, travel and human resources. She was also the department liaison with campus administration, finance, purchasing, accounting as well as the Board of Regents.
Bright was the point person for multiple renovation and construction projects, including Jack Trice Stadium, Hilton Coliseum and the Sukup Basketball Complex.
Bright worked in a similar capacity at the University of Northern Iowa from 1976-2005.
Bright was well connected in CABMA. She served many years on the executive committee and was the president during the 2000-01 school year. She was named CABMA Manager of the Year in 2001.
