AMES, Iowa – Iowa State hurdler Keira Christie-Galloway has been rewarded for her outstanding season with a spot on the Canada Senior National Team for the 2019 Pan American Games. She will represent her home country in the 100-meter hurdles in Lima, Peru from July 26-Aug. 11.
Christie-Galloway did it all in her freshman season at Iowa State. The Ottawa native did not enroll at ISU until January but was able to immediately make an impact during the indoor season, breaking Iowa State's school record in the 60-meter hurdles en route to a Big 12 Indoor title in the event.
She did even more in the outdoor campaign, taking down the school record for the 100-meter hurdles on three separate occasions, lowering it to its current mark of 13.10 at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships. At the conference championships in Norman, Christie-Galloway brought home the title to become the first Cyclone to ever sweep the indoor 60 hurdles and outdoor 100 hurdles crown in the same season.
Christie-Galloway was not done yet, as she was able to qualify for the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 100 hurdles, going on to finish 16th and earn Second Team All-America honors.
