Cancini Earns Top-100 Ranking To Start Season

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State senior Maty Cancini is ranked No. 99 nationally in the 2019-20 Oracle ITA Division I Preseason National Rankings, announced today by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Cancini, a native of Valencia, Venezuela, notched upsets of four players as a junior. She defeated the nation's No. 29, 61, 73 and 103 ranked players last season.
Cancini's biggest win came against Texas' Bianca Turati, who was ranked No. 29 at the time of the match and enters this season at No. 19 on the list. She also beat Baylor's Livia Kraus, who enters this season at No. 39.
Cancini finished last season 19-15 in singles action playing in the top spot of the order. She begins her senior campaign this season at the Gopher Invitational in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
