LAWRENCE, Kan. – Iowa State continued play on day two at the Kansas Invitational, which was highlighted by a 3-1 mark in double action.
A pair of freshmen, Ellie Murphy and Ting-Pei Chang, finished the day with a 2-0 mark for the Cyclones in doubles play. The duo defeated two teams from Kansas State in their first time sharing the court.
In singles action, Maty Cancini improved to 4-1 this fall with a dominant 6-1, 6-0 win over Kansas State's Margot Decker. Cancini avenged a three-set loss to Decker last season at the ITA Central Region Tournament to win her 65th career singles match, which ties her for fourth all-time at Iowa State with Samantha Budai.
The Cyclones conclude tournament play Sunday.
