ISU Achieves High Marks In Latest NCAA GSR And FGR Data

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State student-athletes are achieving on the playing fields and in the classroom, as recent data released today by the NCAA monitoring Graduation Success Rates (GSR) and Federal Graduation Rates (FGR) confirms.
The data is based upon the 2013 cohort (freshmen who entered ISU on aid in 2013).
Iowa State's GSR improved for the sixth-straight year with a record-setting mark of 92%, tying for second in the Big 12 Conference.
The school's four-year FGR is at 72%, also second in the league.
"Our student-athletes consistently demonstrate the drive, discipline and determination to achieve academic success," Senior Associate Athletics Director Dr. Charles Small said. "We are thrilled the academic outcomes align with their effort. Our student-athletes and coaches and the academic support teams all share in these achievements."
Iowa State boasted nine sport teams with perfect GSRs of 100% this year: men's basketball, men's golf, women's golf, gymnastics, soccer, softball, swimming & diving, volleyball and women's track/cross country.
The Cyclone football team GSR is 7% above the NCAA average for FBS schools and 8.5% above the Big 12 average. The men's basketball GSR stayed at 100% for the third-straight year, tying for first in the league.
ISU's overall GSR for its women's sports was No. 1 in the league, compiling an all-time-high score of 99%.
