Joens, Donarski Earn Big 12 Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The Iowa State women's basketball team picked up a pair of Big 12 honors with junior guard Ashley Joens winning Big 12 Co-Player of the Week and freshman guard Lexi Donarski earning Big 12 Freshman of the Week. Joens' honor marks her eighth career weekly award and second-straight. Donarski picks up her first
Joens, who leads the nation in scoring, averaged 29.5 points and 11.5 rebounds on the week, while shooting 46.7 percent from the field. At Iowa she netted a season-high 35 points and 13 rebounds. Against NDSU, she picked up her 22nd-career double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
Donarski put together a strong week, averaging 18.5 points and 5.0 rebounds. She put together a banner performance against NDSU, netting a career and game-high 25 points and seven rebounds. She went 10-of-19 from the field and dished three assists.
Iowa State returns to the court on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at UNI. The game will tip at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
