




AMES, Iowa -Â The Iowa State women's basketball team (12-8, 4-5, Big 12) returns to Hilton Coliseum as it squares off with Oklahoma State (12-9, 3-6 Big 12) on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 6:30 p.m. on Cyclones.tv. The Cyclones trail the all-time series 36-31, but the Cyclones have won five of the last six against OSU, including sweeping the Cowgirls last season. Iowa State is looking for its second-straight sweep of OSU this season.
As a reminder, Hilton Coliseum has instituted a Clear Bag Policy for athletic events. The policy will enhance security while improving efficiency at the entry gates.

Iowa State netted a perfect 10-of-10 from the line against Kansas State and an impressive 25-of-26 against Wright State. Iowa State led the nation in 2012-13 (80.5%) and 2013-14 (80.4%) in free-throw percentage. Iowa State ranks 16th nationally in free-throws made (318).
- Sophomore Ashley Joens, is off to a historic start to her sophomore season, and is currently averaging a double-double with 21.4 points and 10.1 rebounds and has claimed a league-high four Big 12 weekly honors. Joens also ranks seventh in the league in field-goal percentage, 47.5 percent. She has the highest field-goal percentage of any Big 12 guard.
- Joens is currently first in the Big 12 in scoring and fourth in the nation, averaging 21.4 points per game, while her 10.1 rebounds ranks sixth in the Big 12 and 17th nationally. Joens remains the only player in the NCAA averaging over 20.0 points, 10.0 rebounds. Joens is also the only player in the Big 12 ranking in the top-6 in points and rebounds for the season.
- Joens also has a knack for getting to the free-throw line, as she leads the nation with 154 fouls drawn. As a result, she ranks second nationally in free throws made (134), and second-nationally in free throws attempted (163).
- Junior Kristin Scott picked up right where she left off last season, earning a spot on the Preseason All-Big 12 team. Scott is currently second on the team in scoring, averaging 14.4 points. Scott is also second in rebounding, averaging 6.3 boards per game. Scott has kicked things up a notch since the start of Big 12 play averaging 16.4 points and shot 53.0 percent from the field in the first nine games of Big 12 action.
- Junior Rae Johnson is averaging 4.7 assists per game in Big 12 play, which ranks fourth in the league. She leads the Cyclones with 90 assists on the year.
- Since 1999-00, only seven Division I guards or guard/forwards have averaged over 20.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and shot 47.0 percent from the floor. Joens is currently on pace to do so. She joins Delaware's Elena Delle Donne and former Big 12 Player of the Year Brittney Martin as two of the women's basketball players on the list.
- The 2019-20 season marks the 25th in the tenure of Bill Fennelly. Fennelly has led Iowa State to 18 NCAA Tournament appearances. Fennelly boasts a 517-270 record at Iowa State and a 683-323 record in his 32-year career as a head coach. His 683 career wins lists him in the top-15 in the NCAA among active coaches in Division I and in the top-50 winningest coaches all-time.

- The Iowa State women's basketball team dropped its second-straight game on Sunday against West Virginia. The Mountaineers jumped out to a 6-0 lead and never looked back against ISU.
- Iowa State picked up steam in the fourth quarter after putting on the press. ISU forced three-straight turnovers and went 8-of-12 from the field, outscoring WVU 25-16 in the final stanza. ISU's rally would come up short, falling 79-71 to the Mountaineers.
- The Cyclones placed four in double figures with Kristin Scott leading the way with 16 points. Ines Nezerwa went 5-of-8 and netted 13 points, while hauling in eight boards. Ashley Joens found herself in foul trouble for much of the game, but netted 11 points and grabbed eight boards, while Maggie Espenmiller-McGraw tallied 10.
