AMES, Iowa – Iowa State tennis returns to action this weekend against a pair of teams from Texas. The Cyclones (9-5, 1-2) host the Texas Tech Red Raiders (5-6, 0-2) on Friday at 5 p.m. before playing the Horned Frogs of TCU (3-7, 0-2) on Sunday at noon. The matches will be played at either Life Time Fitness in Urbandale or the Forker Tennis Courts in Ames. Check back to this story for updates.
LAST TIME OUT
The Cyclones faced a tough slate last weekend, dropping matches to both Baylor and Texas by 6-1 margins . Maty Cancini earned the only point against the Lady Bears in the No. 1 slot on Friday, her second straight victory over a Baylor opponent in a singles matchup. Chie Kezuka provided the hard fought point against the Longhorns out of the No. 5 slot, giving her 10 victories in her last 12 decisions.
PLAYER TO WATCH
Cancini has been working her way through Iowa State's record book throughout the season. Following her victory over Mel Krywoj last week, the Venezuelan senior is now tied for fifth in program history with 133 overall career wins. With two more singles wins, Cancini will move into the top five in that category with 63 career victories.

Search for Win #1 – Iowa State will be searching for the first win in program history against both Texas Tech and TCU.
Maintain Home Perfection – The Cyclones will look to defend the home courts once again, putting their perfect 8-0 home record to the test.
Three-Straight Ranked – For the third consecutive matchup, Iowa State will be facing a ranked opponent when the Cyclones face Texas Tech on Friday. In the bi-weekly player rankings, Texas Tech has a singles player and a doubles pairing included in the list, and TCU has a ranked individual player.
