AMES, Iowa – Former Cyclone Bridget Carleton is set to compete in the 2020 WNBA Playoffs for the Minnesota Lynx in Bradenton, Florida. The Lynx earned the No. 4 seed and a first-round bye and will square off with the Phoenix Mercury on Thursday at 6 p.m. on ESPN2 in the second round of the playoffs.
Carleton, who was the 2019 Big 12 Player of the Year and Cheryl Miller Award winner, played a key role in Minnesota's 14-8 regular season run, appearing in all 22 games and starting in 15 contests. Carleton averaged 6.6 points per game, 2.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists. She also shot an impressive 52 percent from the field and 45.7 percent from 3-point land.
In her first-career WNBA start, she dropped 25 points off 11-of-16 shooting and hauled in seven boards in a win over the New York Liberty.
Thursday's game is a single elimination game. If the Lynx advance, they would face either the second-ranked Seattle Storm or the top-seeded Las Vegas Aces in a best-of-5 series, beginning on Tuesday, September 22.
