AMES, Iowa – No. 23 Iowa State hosts its final home meet of 2021 on Sunday afternoon when the Cyclones welcome No. 1 Oklahoma to Hilton Coliseum for a noon dual meet.
Admission to the meet is free, and fans are allowed to attend. Face covering and social distancing standards are being required at Hilton Coliseum. For more info on Iowa State's Covid-19 mitigation plans, click here.
Sunday's meet will be streamed on Big 12 Now on ESPN+, here. Live results will be provided by Iowa State, here.
Thought it is Iowa State's final home meet of the season, there will be limited Senior Day ceremonies. Due to her Olympic Redshirt in 2020 and the NCAA's blanket waiver year for an extra season of eligibility for all winter sports student-athletes, Ariana Orrego will return in 2022. In addition, Andrea Maldonado and Sophia Steinmeyer both intend to take advantage of the extra year and be back with the Cyclones in 2022.
Prior to the meet, a video will be played honoring Natalia Ros Vaquer, who remains in Spain following a season-ending knee injury in the fall. Ros Vaquer will graduate in December 2021. Following the meet, a short ceremony will take place and video will be played honoring senior team manager Avery Stoll, who will also be graduating in December 2021.
Iowa State continued its busy run of meets on Friday night with a win over Northern Illinois. The Cyclones had three particularly strong events, posting season-best apparatus scores on vault (49.300) and bars (49.225), while matching their season high on floor (49.175). ISU had five different competitors post scores of 9.925 on Friday, with Steinmeyer, Makayla Maxwell and Addy De Jesus all going 9.925 in succession on vault. It marked the third time in program history that three vaults have gone 9.925 or higher in the same meet.
