Five Cyclones Into Round of 32 At ITA Regionals

STILLWATER, Okla. - Iowa State sent five individuals into the round of 32 and three doubles teams in the round of 16 at the ITA Regionals.Â
Kicking off the day for the Cyclones was Thasaporn Naklo and Sofia Cabezas. The pair faced Thea Rice and Sarah Millard from Arkansas State and won, 8-5, to reach the round of 16.
Miska Kadlackova and Anna Supapitch Kuearum moved onto the round of 16 as well, defeating Southern Illinois' Margaux Guibal Britt and Jordan Schifano, 8-4.
Ange Oby Kajuru and Chie Kezua also advanced with an 8-3 victory over Romana Tarajova and Lera Valeeva from Southeast Missouri State.Â
Iowa State finished the day 7-2 in singles action with Naklo, Kajuru, Kadleckova, Kezuka and Kuearum reaching the round of 32.
Naklo, the tournament's top seed, cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win against Rice from Arkansas State. Kajuru and Kezuka were also straight-set winners, while Kadleckova and Kuearum won in three sets.
Action resumes tomorrow morning at Oklahoma State.
