Ramos Named to 2023 Extra Elite Top 100 List

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State senior catcher Mikayla Ramos has been named to the 2023 Extra Elite Top 100 by Extra Inning Softball.

Ramos was the lone Cyclone represented on the list at No. 76.

Last season, Ramos was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team and to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region Second Team.

In 2022, Ramos logged 53 RBIs in 55 games, five shy of breaking the single-season school record (57) that she set in 2021. Ramos became the only player in program history to drive in 50+ runs in more than one season of her career and her 14 home runs tied for the third-most in a single season in program history.

Ramos heads into her senior year sitting fifth overall in program history for career home runs (28) and doubles (33) while she is fourth all-time with 132 RBIs.

Ramos enters 2023 18 RBIs away from setting the Iowa State runs batted in record and needs 44 base knocks to eclipse 200 career hits.

The Riverside, Calif. native notched 11 multi-hit games while posting a team-high 11 multi-RBI games last season. Additionally, Ramos drove in three or more runs in ten games, highlighted by a career day against Coppin State with two home runs and five RBIs.

The Cyclones open the season against Omaha on Friday, Feb. 10 at the Doc Halverson UNI Dome Tournament.
