AUSTIN – Iowa State (4-10-1, 1-6 Big 12) dropped a tightly-contested match to Texas (10-3-2, 4-2-1 Big 12) on Sunday afternoon, 2-1, at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
After the Cyclones struck first in the sixth minute of action as Salomé Prat found Mira Emma, Texas evened the score at one apiece just before halftime. The Longhorns outshot ISU in the second half, and in a multi-shot possession, drew a handball, which resulted in a penalty kick. Lexi Missimo, the nation's leading point-earner, converted the PK to give Texas the advantage as it would go on to win, with Missimo's score being the difference.
Iowa State opened the game as the aggressor, recording two shots in the first six minutes, converting on the second as Prat fed Emma across the box as a left-footed, lower right corner score from Mira gave ISU the 1-0 advantage.

Fannon's Thoughts
"It's hard to feel anything other than pride in a wonderful performance by us. We executed our game plan really well and lost the game on a penalty. We're obviously disappointed with the chances we didn't convert, and this is something that has haunted us a few times this season."
