AUSTIN, Texas – Three members of the Iowa State women's track and field team competed Thursday night at the NCAA National Championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium. All three earned All-American honors, highlighted by Cailie Logue's sixth-place finish in the 10,000 meter run.
Logue earned her fifth career All-American honor, and second in the 10,000 meter run, with her sixth-place finish. The top Big 12 finisher in the field, Logue came in with a time of 33:06.86, earning first team All-American honors. Logue had previously earned second team All-America honors in the event in 2021 with a 14th place finish. Logue had the fastest split in four of the 25 laps, tied for the most laps with the best split in the field. Utah Valley's Everlyn Kemboi won the national title with a facility record time of 32:39.08.

In the long jump, Sydney Willits finished 16th with a jump of 6.01m (19-8 ¾). Her best leap came on her first attempt, as she turned in jumps of 5.79m (19-0) and 5.54 (18-2 ¼) on her second and third attempts. Willits earned second team All-American honors, becoming the eighth women's long jump All-American in program history and the first since Jhoanmy Luque in 2018. Texas' Ackelia Smith won the national title with a jump of 6.88m (22-7) on her sixth and final attempt.

Janette Schraft competed in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in the first event of the night for the Cyclones. Schraft finished ninth in the second heat and 17th overall in a time of 10:05.58. Schraft earned honorable mention All-American honors, just missing on second team honors by :00.54. Schraft became first women's All-American in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in program history. Notre Dame's Olivia Markezich won the second heat in 9:40.81.

On Friday night, Ezekiel Rop will compete in the 1,500-meter finals at 8:12 p.m. A pair of Cyclones will compete on Saturday night, as Emily March takes part in the discus at 7:35 p.m. and Logue runs the 5,000 meter run at 9:55 p.m.
