CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia – The Iowa State women's cross country squad posted an impressive team finish at the Virginia Invitational. Racing against some of the nation's top teams, the Cyclones came away with a sixth-place finish, led by Madelynn Hill's top-25 individual finish.
Hill finished 25th in 16:52.5 and was followed by Janette Schraft in 31st who posted a time of 16:58.3, her the second sub-17-minute 5K in her career. Dana Feyen was the third Iowa State finisher in the top-50 in 17:06.2. Maelle Porcher (57th, 17:16.0) and Kiki Connell (72nd, 17:24.2) rounded out the Iowa State top-five to help the Cyclone cause.
In the team race, the USTFCCCA No. 26 Cyclones shocked No. 5 Colorado (9th), No. 14 Providence (8th) and No. 15 Michigan State (7th) inside the top-10 while all top-five team finishers were nationally ranked in the top-15.

The Cyclones will travel to Nuttycombe at Wisconsin on October 13th following a three-week break. Races in Madison are set to begin at 12:20 p.m.
