AMES, Iowa – Iowa State track and field returns with the Hawkeye Invitational hosted by Iowa Friday, Jan. 12 and Saturday, Jan. 13. Throwers will compete in the weight throw and shot put on Friday, while the remaining events take place Saturday.
Action for the Cyclones begins at noon Friday with the women's weight throw and Saturday will begin with the men's high jump at 11 a.m. Live results are available here, and the meet will be streamed by B1G+ here (subscription required).
The season began in December with the BU Season Opener and ISU Holiday Invite, where Cyclones had a strong start to the season turning in seven top 10 program marks. Makayla Clark took down the 33-year-old 1,000-meter run school record while Kole Becker (No. 3, heptathlon) and Sanele Masondo (No. 4, 5,000m) also posted top five marks.

At the ISU Holiday Invite, Darius Kipyego began his season with a 1:48.67 in the 800m, currently the second-fastest time in the nation among NCAA DI runners. Redshirt-freshmen Kole Becker and Braden Goellner also hold early season top 10 marks in the nation with Becker's heptathlon score of 5,451 at No. 4 and Goellner's high jump clearance of 7-0 1/4 (2.14m), tied for seventh. It was both Becker's and Goellner's debut for ISU.
Next up, Iowa State hosts the Cyclone Open Friday, Jan. 19 while Cyclones will also compete at the NB Collegiate Showdown Friday, Jan. 19 and Saturday, Jan. 20.
