AMES, Iowa – No. 28 Iowa State (1-2, 1-0 Big 12) defeated No. 26 BYU (3-7, 0-1 Big 12) by a score of 196.900-196.125 on Friday evening.
"I am so proud of this team. The grit that they showed out there was unbelievable to watch. This is just the tip of the iceberg for us. It's going to be a fun season for Iowa State gymnastics," Head Coach Ashley Miles Greig said.
Iowa State gained their first victory of the season which also marked the first win of Head Coach Ashley Miles Greig's career. Their score marked the highest team score since 2021. The Cyclones saw five 9.900 scores to help them reach this mark.
The Cyclones were led by freshman Noelle Adams who put up two 9.900 scores first came on vault while the second came on the floor to end the night. Adams now boasts four 9.900 scores on the season thus far.

Iowa State started the night very strong with their highest score of the season. Two 9.900's topped the charts. First came from Noelle Adams and then right away Josie Bergstrom matched her.
