The 2024 Cyclones
Iowa State opened the Big 12 slate with the win over West Virginia, moving Johnson-Lynch's record in Big 12 openers to 14-6. Amiree Hendricks-Walker was the star in the victory, totaling a career-high 18 kills on just 27 attempts (season-high .593 hitting percent).

Setter Morgan Brandt has led ISU to hit at .254 this season (No. 43 nationally) and has totaled 503 assists at 10.06 per set. The versatile Brandt also has 44 kills at a hitting percentage of .337, 97 digs, 22 blocks and 12 aces in 2024.
Johnson-Lynch continues her 20th season leading Iowa State, a program she has transformed. Johnson-Lynch holds 377 career victories (.647 winning percentage), with 204 of those being Big 12 wins to rank fourth in all-time conference history. Iowa State totals 10 20-win seasons under Johnson-Lynch, including the past two seasons.
The Opponent
Iowa State and Cincinnati will meet for the sixth time in series history, and for the second time as Big 12 opponents. ISU won last season's matchup in five sets at home to close the 2023 Big 12 slate, marking the first time the Bearcats played at Hilton. ISU holds the 4-1 lead in the series, with UC's victory coming in 1990.
Cincinnati is currently on a seven-match win streak and holds a 5-0 record in road matches this season. The Bearcats have also met Illinois and West Virginia this season, losing 0-3 to Illinois and sweeping WVU. Outside hitter Carly Glendinning leads Cincinnati with 161 kills at .295 hitting. Abby Walker leads UC with 51 total blocks at 1.21 per set.
