AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State men's golf team will look to stay hot as they travel to Hockley, Texas for Big 12 Match Play.

COURSE INFORMATION
Designed by Chet Williams, The Club at Houston Oaks is ranked no. 2 in Texas. "One thing that will make this course unique in the Houston area is the great variety of lies golfers will face. The most defining element of the course, however, is an abundance of large Oak Trees that the course winds among," said Chet Williams. Houston Oaks is a par 71 and is 7,007 yards.
KEY STORYLINES
- Iowa State grabbed their second tournament win of the year last week at the Zach Johnson Invitational.
- Owen Sawyer had his best finish of his career last week, tying for fourth with a score of 210. Sawyer also jumps into eighth place in the Top-10 career stroke average list (72.90).Â
- Luke Gutschewski also tied for fourth, his ninth Top-5 finish. Gutschewski sits atop the career stroke average list at 71.50.
- Zach May finished in 7th last week, which included tying his career-low round with a 66 in the third round. May led the Cyclones with thirteen birdies over the three rounds.
- Luke Metcalf played as an individual last week, but he had a career best finish and 54-hole score, carding a 219 and finishing in a tie for 27th.
- The Cyclones now have five tournament victories dating back to last year, which included taking home titles at the Iowa Fall Classic, the Zach Johnson Invitational and the Tiger Collegiate Invitational in the 2023-24 season. It was the first time since 2016-17 that ISU has won three events in the same season. The Cyclones also picked up victories at the Gopher Invitational earlier this season and at the Zach Johnson Invitational last week.
