HOUSTON, Texas – The Iowa State tennis team finished action Sunday at the Rice Invitational, going 2-1 in the remaining singles matches.
Cristina Ramos Sierra finished the weekend with a 7-6 (5), 6-3 win against Vittoria Baccino of UTSA.
Mari Paz Alberto Vilar finished her fall season with a come-from-behind victory against Texas A&M's Lizanne Boyer. Alberto Vilar dropped the opening set, 3-6, but rallied for a 6-2 win to force a decisive third set. She took that super tiebreker, 10-3, to finish 2-1 on the weekend.
Iowa State will turn its focus to the spring dual season, which will open in January.
