League-Leading 89 Named to Academic All-Big 12

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State registered a league-best 89 Fall Academic All-Big 12 honorees, the conference announced Wednesday. A total of 80 earned first team and nine picked up second team.
Student-athletes from football (41), soccer (15), women's cross country (13), volleyball (10) and men's cross country (10) were honored.
Sam Hall (men's cross country), Ernie Mattson (men's cross country), Riley Beach (women's cross country), Brenna Cohoon (women's cross country), Kiki Connell (women's cross country), Dana Feyen (women's cross country), Kaylee Tobaben (women's cross country) and Hannah Reid (soccer) put up 4.00 GPAs over the semester.
First team members earn the honor for maintaining a GPA of 3.20 or better and second team members hold a GPA of 3.00 to 3.19. Eligible student-athletes also have participated in at least 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshman and transfers are not eligible in their first year.
