Iowa State SAAC Holds CyCans Food Drive

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), in partnership with United Way, hosted the annual CyCans Food Drive at the men's and women's basketball games and wrestling dual in Hilton Coliseum last weekend. In total, the CyCans Food Drive provided 13,729 meals for the Ames community.

Iowa State SAAC representatives were positioned around the Hilton concourse collecting canned goods, non-perishable food items and monetary donations prior to last weekend's home events.

Student-athletes gathered 1,148 pounds of food, which will go to The Shop, a food pantry for Iowa State students located on campus. The drive also raised $3,193.25 which will be distributed by United Way and will benefit food pantries throughout Story County.
