AMES, Iowa – Iowa State next takes on the John McDonnell Invite hosted by Arkansas at John McDonnell Field April 18-19, while Gable Sieperda will compete at the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Va. April 19.

Virginia Challenge
The lone Thursday event is the hammer throw at the John McDonnell Invite, with Ella O'Neall competing at 4 p.m. and the men at 5:45 p.m. The remaining events at both meets will take place Friday.
Last week throughout the Bryan Clay and Jim Duncan Invite, Iowa State totaled to top-10 ranked program performances led by Cam Jones breaking the shot put record with a mark past 20 meters. Following the weekend, the Cyclone men broke into the USTFCCCA Top 25 at No. 23 in the nation.

At this point of the season, Cyclones hold eight top 20 marks in the nation, including five in the top 10; Darius Kipyego ranks at No. 2 (800m), Janette Schraft at No. 3 (steeplechase), Cam Jones at No. 4 (shot put), Gable Sieperda at No. 6 (steeplechase) and Ezekiel Rop at No. 9 (1,500m).
Drake Relays are on deck for the Cyclones, with events beginning Wednesday, April 24 through Saturday, April 27.
