Iowa State Falls at Fourth-Ranked Utah

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The Iowa State Cyclones (2-2, 0-1 Big 12) fell to the Utah Utes (2-3, 1-0 Big 12) on Friday evening 197.300-194.850 at the Jon M. Huntsman Center.

"There was a lot of energy in Huntsman tonight. Once again, this team showed just how resilient they are," said Head Coach Ashley Miles Greig. "We had to make some readjustments tonight, but we will continue to grind and to get better. We'll reset and do it again on Monday."

Iowa State had some excellent showings from several gymnasts. Haylee Hardin and Josie Bergstrom-Te Slaa tied for highest individual scores, each earning a 9.875 on beam and floor, respectively. Lauren Thomas continued her streak of earning a 9.850 on beam, and Noelle Adams scored a 9.850 with her floor routine.

Bars (47.925)
The Cyclones began the evening on bars in Salt Lake City. Frederique Sgarbossa was the standout this evening earning a 9.775 for the team. Close behind her was sophomore Paige Wills, with a 9.700. Both Sgarbossa and Wills have been strong standouts on bars for the Cyclones so far this season.

Josie Bergstrom-Te Slaa led the way on vault earning a 9.825 - she's been the team's highest scorer on vault in all three meets so far. Sgarbossa scored a 9.800 for the Cyclones, and Haylee Hardin followed right behind with a 9.725.
