Leading Off: The Cyclones are on the road again this week as they head to the copper state of Arizona for the fourth Big 12 matchup of the season against the Wildcats. Â
Iowa State had several notable gymnasts standouts last Sunday at West Virginia. Freshmen Haylee Hardin once again earned above a 9.9 with a 9.925 on floor for the team. Frederique Sgarbossa also was a high scorer for the team with a 9.850 on bars. Both Hardin and Sgarbossa have both been standouts for the Cyclones throughout the season thus far. Â
After opening the season with a win at the American Gold Women's Collegiate Classic, Arizona has a record of 8-2, and 2-1 in the Big 12. Arizona is currently ranked 18th in the Road to Nationals standings, averaging a score of 196.067. Friday night marks the 9th time in program history that Arizona and Iowa State have met. Â

Storylines:Â
Freshman Haylee Hardin has won Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for the third week in a row. She owns four 9.9-plus scores this season and has six event titles. Â
Hardin is ranked 22nd on floor exercise – the highest individual ranking by any Cyclone.Â
The Cyclones are ranked 24 on vault, and 36th overall. Â
Josie Bergstrom-Te Slaa continues to compete all-around for ISU – a testament to her work and development over the years. Â

Iowa State returned 10 gymnasts from last year's squad that made the largest improvement in the country.Â
ISU has added four freshmen and one transfer for a team of 15.Â
Noelle Adams and Josie Bergstrom-Te Slaa were both named to the Big 12 Preseason Gymnastics team. Â
Iowa State's 10 victories last season were tied for the most since it won 20 in 2018.Â
Sophomore Noelle Adams claimed 14 event titles last year in her freshman campaign. Those 14 titles were the third-most in program history by a first-year gymnast.Â
As a team, ISU claimed 17 event titles last season.Â
2025 will mark the first year that Iowa State competes in a conference schedule, as the additions of Arizona, Arizona State and Utah put the conference at seven teams.Â
