AMES, Iowa - No. 3 Iowa State faces a stiff road test as the Cyclones head south to the state of Oklahoma for their final road trip of the regular season. The Cyclones have a pair of Big 12 duals on tap beginning Friday at 7 p.m. at No. 21 Oklahoma. ISU then heads to Stillwater for a Sunday matinee against No. 5 Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma State 149-pounder Casey Swiderski spent the first three years of his career in Ames. Swiderski was an All-American for the Cyclones, placing 7th in 2024.

In a nationally televised dual last season in Ames, No. 3 Oklahoma State topped the injury-riddled Cyclones, 27-12. Iowa State led 12-4 at the intermission but dropped the final five bouts to the Cowboys.

TEAM STORYLINES

No. 3 Iowa State has won six duals in a row and is coming off a top-15 win over No. 15 South Dakota State last weekend, 29-7. ISU took 8-of-10 bouts from SDSU.
Iowa State is 51-14 (.784) in Big 12 duals under head coach Kevin Dresser, including a 16-3 mark in the last three seasons.
Dresser notched his 100th dual victory as head coach of the Cyclones last Friday against Northern Colorado. He is the fourth coach in program history to reach the milestone, joining Harold Nichols (454), Bobby Douglas (198) and Hugo Otopalik (159).
If both teams wrestle their full lineup, all 10 bouts in Sunday's ISU-OSU dual will feature a top-15 matchup.

INDIVIDUAL STORYLINES

Yonger Bastida is the No. 1 ranked heavyweight in the country by all major pollsters. Bastida leads the team with 74 takedowns on the season while surrendering only two, a 37:1 ratio. He is 16-0 with nine wins over ranked opponents. Bastida ranks third nationally, and tops among heavyweights, with nine tech falls this season.
Rocky Elam is 11-0 on the season with wins over four of InterMat's current top-10 197-pounders, including three of the top six. Elam has surrendered only one takedown and owns seven bonus-point victories.
Jacob Frost could have a matchup against former teammate Casey Swiderski on Sunday against Oklahoma State. Outside of the Cyclone wrestling room, the pair met officially one time during the 2022-23 season at the North Country Open with Swiderski getting a 9-4 decision over Frost. Frost is 11-3 on the season with six bonus-point victories (4 TF, 2 MD). One of his three losses is a medical forfeit in the third-place match at the CKLV.
Evan Frost is 13-1 with seven bonus-point wins this season (1 WBF, 3 TF, 3 MD). He is 3-1 against ranked opponents.
Cyclone 141-pounder Anthony Echemendia missed last Sunday's dual against South Dakota State due to illness, but prior to that, had won four-consecutive matches by bonus-point margin following his first loss of the season to Ohio State's No. 1 Jesse Mendez. He is 12-1 with 10 bonus-point victories (1 WBF, 5 TF, 4 MD) and is 4-1 against ranked foes.
After a bumpy start to the season, Stevo Poulin has won four-consecutive matches, including two against ranked opponents. Poulin started with a 4-5 record through his first nine matches, but wrestled perhaps the most difficult first semester schedule of any Cyclone. He saw five top-15 opponents in those first nine matches. Poulin is now 8-5 on the season with six victories coming via bonus-point margin (2 WBF, 1 TF, 3 MD).
Connor Euton has won six-straight matches and is 12-3 on the season with 10 bonus-point victories (1 WBF, 5 TF, 4 MD).
