Cardinal Tops Gold, 139-128

AMES, IOWA – The Iowa State swimming and diving team split into two teams in a face-off in their annual Cardinal and Gold Meet at home on Friday evening. The Cardinal team ended up winning 11 of the 18 events to seal the win over team Gold, 139 to 128. Abbi Crum, team Cardinal captain, won all four of her events, including 200 Breast, 200 Back, 200 IM, and the 200 Medley Relay. Junior Grace Swoboda also put in a great performance, winning three of her four events for team Gold in the 100 Free, 50 Breast, and 100 Breast.

"Each team fought really well and the Cardinal team kept their hand on the wall in a couple events," head coach Matt Leach said. "It was really great to see the energy, to see everyone having fun, and to enjoy each other's hard work, and we are going to continue to build and grow and look to get better for the next meet."
