A native of Erie, Pa., Darkus capped off his career by winning the 126-pound NCAA title in 1984. Darkus finished his career with 118 wins, which ranked fifth all-time in school history at the time. Darkus went on to a successful international career on the mat, claiming the Silver Medal at the 1985 World Championships.
