Rob Jenkins enters his fourth season with the Cyclones in 2026-27 and third as an assistant coach. Jenkins arrived in Ames in June 2023, spending his first season as Iowa State’s player development coordinator.
In his role, Jenkins assists with all aspects of player development for the Cyclones. His efforts have helped Iowa State reach the NCAA Tournament each of the last three seasons.
Jenkins also assists with Iowa State post play. Elite play in the post helped ISU match its best start to a season in 2025-26. The Cyclones opened the year with a 14-0 record, highlighted by wins over all three in-state rivals (then-No. 11 Iowa, UNI, Drake) as well as a Coconut Hoops Classic title with wins over Marquette and Indiana. One of the most efficient offenses in the conference, Iowa State owned the top mark in points per game, field goal percentage, 2-point field goal percentage and points per scoring attempt in games against Big 12 opponents in 2024-25.
Prior to Iowa State, Jenkins spent time as a graduate assistant at the University of North Carolina. The Chapel Hill native also spent four seasons as a student assistant at the University of Wisconsin prior to his return home to the Tar Heel state.
