Marina Parashkevova is in her second year as a graduate assistant coach. Parashkevova played No. 1 singles and doubles at DePaul University, where she also served as team captain. She earned collegiate regional ranking in both singles and doubles and was voted by her teammates as the 2005 MVP.

Parashkevova was on the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and the Dean's List. She ranked No. 6 nationally in Bulgaria in the U-18s and No. 12 in the overall women's rankings. In 1998, she earned a Women's Tennis Association (WTA) ranking.

A native of Vraca, Bulgaria, Parashkevova earned her bachelor's degree at DePaul in communications and psychology. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi. She is currently working on her master's of business administration at Iowa State.
