AMES, Iowa- The Iowa State women's track and field team was among the elite teams selected for all-academic honors by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Among 250 teams nationally the top 75 squads were chosen as all-academic. The Cyclones racked a team cumulative GPA of 3.26 for the season. The selection of teams nominated was based on academic performance and on their indoor and outdoor season performance.
Former Iowa State multi-eventer Erica Lynn was nominated to the all-academic team as an individual in her final season as a Cyclone. The Ames, Iowa native recorded a GPA of 3.96 and reached top performance levels in both her indoor and outdoor seasons. Lynn's season highlights include a second-place finish in the heptathlon at the Big 12 outdoor championships and a second-place finish at the Drake Relays where she scored her career high 5,386 points.
