-No. 2 Iowa State (6-1) will hit the road to take on a second instate rival, No. 25 Northern Iowa (0-0-1), Sunday at 2 p.m. in the McLeod Center in Cedar Falls. -Sunday's dual against the Panther's marks the 64th meeting between the two programs.
-For the third consecutive weekend the Cyclones will be televised live. Iowa Public Television is scheduled to carry the ISU versus UNI dual.
-Iowa State dropped its first dual match of the season, 20-13, to Iowa Dec. 9 in Ames in front of a sold-out Hilton Coliseum.
-Four ISU sophomore grapplers are on the verge of hitting 40-career victories. Cyler Sanderson needs just one win to move over the hill and Nick Fanthorpe is three shy. Nick Gallick and David Zabriskie each have 35-career wins and Jake Varner has 33.
-Nick Fanthorpe and David Zabriskie lead the squad with 26 total dual takedowns each. As a team the Cyclones have tallied 144 takedowns in duals. There have been 44 bouts resulting in bonus points (21 major decisions, 10 technical falls, 13 pins).
-In 113 total matches wrestled by ISU starters, the Cyclones have posted a .796 inidividual winning pct.
-Head wrestling coach Cael Sanderson can win claim his 20th dual victory at the helm against Northern Iowa. In his first year, Sanderson's squad won 13 duals and have defeated six opponents this season.
