Iowa State To Play In Capital Classic

AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State softball team will wrap up tournament play this weekend at the Capital Classic in Sacramento, Calif. The Cyclones (12-20) will play five games, including rematches against Sacramento State, Santa Clara and Cal Poly. ISU split in a doubleheader with Sacramento State on Wednesday, dropped a 4-3 decision to Cal Poly and beat Santa Clara, 3-2, last weekend.

Killeen, a native of Papillion, Neb., has now driven in 93 RBI, surpassing Erica Martinez (2000-03), who drove in 88 in her illustrious career ... Kabanuck leads the team with six homers while Jackie Morales has driven in a team-high 12 runs ... the Bronco pitching staff has posted an ERA of 4.55 and is led by Jerrica Castagno, who is 2-7 overall with a 3.52 earned run average ... Morales also sees a lot of time and has a 2-6 record and a 3.53 ERA.
The Cyclones will face Jenny Condon, one of the top players in Iowa State history, and her Cal Poly squad for the second time in just over a week ... the Mustangs enter the weekend winners of their last six games, including a 4-3 win over Iowa State in the first game of the National Invitational Softball Tournament ...
