AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State tennis team will travel to Columbia, Mo., this weekend to face the Missouri Tigers at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Green Tennis Center.
The Cyclones (5-9, 0-8) are coming off a 6-1 home loss to No. 67 Oklahoma State at the Ames Racquet and Fitness Center last Saturday. ISU sophomore Kara Hickey picked up the point for the Cyclones as she defeated OSU's Yawna Allen in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3. The match against the Cowgirls was the Cyclones final home meet for the 2007 season.
Missouri (7-10, 2-7) is coming off a 4-3 home win over border-rival Kansas last Saturday. The Tigers' other Big 12 win came against Kansas State back on March 3. Missouri comes into the match against the Cyclones having lost seven of their past nine matches.
Iowa State's Hickey looks forward to traveling to her hometown this weekend. In last year's match against the Tigers, the Columbia, Mo., native won her singles and doubles matches. The Cyclones swept all three doubles matches from the Tigers last year and took two of the six singles matches, falling 4-3, in Ames.
