Iowa State Third Seed in National Duals

AMES, Iowa ? Iowa State's wrestling team is the third seed and will take on Hofstra at 11 a.m. Saturday in the first round of the NWCA Cliff Keen National Duals at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

The brackets were released Tuesday. ISU is 7-1 in dual action and ranked third nationally by WIN Magazine and fourth on the NWCA poll. Hofstra owns a 4-4 dual record and moved up to 12th on the latest NWCA coaches poll after beating No. 14 Edinboro, 24-19 and losing 22-14 to fifth-ranked Central Michigan Sunday in Hempstead, N.Y.

The winner of the ISU-Hofstra match will take on the victor of the match between sixth-seeded Michigan and Northern Iowa Saturday at 3 p.m. Action continues with semifinal duals Sunday at 11 a.m. The third-place match is Sunday at 1 p.m. with the championship match slated for 3 p.m. There is consolation-bracket wrestling Saturday evening and Sunday morning.

A total of 86 teams will participate in brackets for NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA, junior college and women's collegiate competition.
