Cyclone Tennis Finds Singles Success at UNM Invite

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. ? The Iowa State tennis team continued its strong singles play Saturday at the New Mexico Invitational, earning four wins on the day.

Iowa State's Bolan Tarkoe defeated Northern Arizona University's Stacey Pinchbeck 7-5, 6-3. Freshman Chelsea Loprinzi knocked off UTEP freshman Courtney Adcox 6-2, 6-1. Reka Kelemen nearly swept Western New Mexico's Stephanie Shelton 6-0, 6-1. ISU freshman Tessa Lang earned a hard-fought victory over Air Force's Katrina Eromin 6-3, 6-7, 10-8.

“We performed better today,” head coach Armando Espinosa said. “We went 4-3 in singles play, and the most important thing is that we are getting more matches under our belt.”

The Cyclones will finish up play Sunday morning in Albuquerque.
