AMES, Iowa- Eight members of Iowa State's field-event squad will travel to the adidas Classic inside the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Neb. Friday afternoon.
Veteran leaders Zac Brouillette and Amy Waggoner will steer the ship this weekend. Brouillette, a sophomore thrower, has earned four first-place finishes in three meets this season. The former football player holds a career best 58-6 1/2 in the weight throw and 53-7 3/4 in the shot put.
Brouillette's women's counterpart Amy Waggoner, will also be in attendance and competing in the same events. Waggoner has vastly improved in her time with the Cyclones. This season the junior has already set a career best in the shot put with an effort of 45-9.
Robbie Utterback (shot put/weight throw), Stefan Tauber (long jump/60-meter dash) and Richard Newton (mile) will also compete at this weekend's classic. The women's squad will bring redshirt freshman Britta Christofferson (weight throw/shot put), Lillian Sawhill (weight throw/shot put), and Christie Tim (high jump).
