LINCOLN, Neb.- Zac Brouillette continued his impressive 2008 indoor track campaign, shattering his career-best mark in the weight throw Friday night, to highlight Iowa State's competition at the adidas Classic in Lincoln, Neb.
Brouillette's toss of 59-8 surpassed his previous mark of 58-06 3/4 set at the Panther Open on January 19th this indoor season. The Sioux City native earned runner-up in the event to Nebraska's Bryan Bell, who threw a 63-04. Brouillette has not placed lower than second in any event this season. Fellow Cyclone Robbie Utterback also competed in the weight throw, finishing ninth with a toss of 51-11 1/4.
ISU's field-event athletes will continue their quest to prepare for the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday, as they compete in day two of the adidas Classic. Events are slated to begin at 10 a.m. Complete results will be posted on cyclones.com at the conclusion of the meet.
