CEDAR FALLS, Iowa ? The Iowa State track and field team took home six top-three finishes from the UNI Dome Open Friday night.
Senior Eric Parker took first in the men's 60-meter hurdles with an effort of 7.94. Parker is closing in on the NCAA provisional qualifying time. Fellow senior Justin Peel placed third in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.96.
In women's competition, ISU's field athletes excelled. Council Bluffs native Tiffanie Synacek was champion in the women's high jump with a leap of 5-06. Teammate Mallory Henderson placed third in the long jump with an effort of 17-9.
Newcomer Caitlin Weber took second in the pole vault competition clearing a height of 11-0 ?. Junior Myranda Casterline ran to third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.98.
Cyclones Leia Jackson and La'Kesha Manning took fourth and fifth place, respectively, in the women's 60-meter dash. Their time was 7.90.
Next up for the Cyclones is the Big 12 Indoor Championships in College Station, Texas Feb. 27-28.
