AMES, Iowa ? The Iowa State tennis will travel to Lincoln, Neb., this weekend to compete in the Nebraska Tournament. The Cyclones will play West Virginia at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, and ISU will open Big 12 Conference play on Sunday against tournament host Nebraska at 11:00 a.m.
Iowa State is looking for two more wins to add to its 4-2 dual-meet record, after defeating Massachusetts and Syracuse in the Syracuse Tournament last weekend. Liza Wischer has remained undefeated in singles play, earning a 6-0 record at the No. 5 singles spot this season.
“We are looking forward to starting our Big 12 season with the right attitude,” ISU head coach Armando Espinosa said. “These two matches are another great opportunity to improve and continue to face great competition.”
The Cornhuskers are undefeated this season and have won 92 of their last 95 home non-conference matches. Iowa State will be Nebraska's first Big 12 test as well.
The West Virginia Mountaineers are 5-5 this season.
