Cyclones In Ninth Place At Big 12 Championships

HUTCHINSON, Kan.?The Iowa State men's golf team moved up two spots to ninth place after the third round of the 2009 Big 12 Golf Championships Tuesday afternoon in Hutchinson, Kan. ISU fired a 295 this afternoon to give the Cyclones a three-round 909 score.

Ben Herrera, Thomas Lathrop and Michael Wuertz all carded 73s today to help the Cyclone charge. Nathan Leary leads all Cyclones with a 225, tying for 16th in the individual race. Lathrop is currently tied for 20th at 226, followed by Wuertz, who is tied for 27th with a 227 score.

Oklahoma State is in first place at 868, followed by Colorado at 871. Baylor's Bill Allcorn leads the medalist race at 1-under (209), one shot ahead of Morgan Hoffman of Oklahoma State (210).

The fourth and final round will conclude tomorrow.
