AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State track and field teams open their 2010-2011 season Friday as they play host to the Holiday Preview at the Lied Recreation Center. Field events are set to begin at 2 p.m. with the women's weight throw, while events on the track will start at 4 p.m. with the preliminary races of the women's 60-meter hurdles.
“This meet is a chance for everyone that's been working hard this fall without any reward of competition to get out and brush the dust off and gauge their progress,” Iowa State head coach
Corey Ihmels said. “It's exciting for us to get a chance to see where we are in our training.”
Teams competing in the Holiday Preview include Drake, Truman State, Lincoln (Missouri), Missouri-Kansas City, NIACC, Northwest Missouri State, Hannibal-LaGrange, William Penn, Grand View, Mount Mercy, Western Illinois and Missouri Southern.
Results will be posted on cyclones.com at the conclusion of the meet.
