LINCOLN, Neb.?The No. 16 Iowa State gymnastics team was far from its best and up against some of the stiffest competition in the nation Saturday in the Devany Center at the Big 12 Championship, and the Cyclones had to settle for a four-place finish. Second-ranked Oklahoma won its third straight conference title with a 197.175, while No. 12 Nebraska finished in second with a team score of 196.625, No. 14 Missouri took third with a tally of 195.900 and ISU scored 194.850. “Today, we let an opportunity to perform and score well slip away,” Iowa State head coach Jay Ronayne said. “We have to take this as a learning experience because we have two weeks until regionals, and it will be a very similar environment. We need to be as sharp at regionals as we were the previous two weeks.”
