KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Iowa State tennis collected three singles wins as well as one doubles victory at the end of day one at the Western Michigan Super Challenge today. The Cyclones played the host Broncos in singles and the squad faced three pairs from Louisville and one from Indiana when they split up for doubles.
“I felt like we had the opportunity to win a lot of matches with 10-point tie breakers,” Espinosa said. “The tiebreakers just didn't go our way. We need to focus on pressure situations, and hopefully we'll be able to work on that and go from there.”
The WMU Super Challenge continues with doubles and singles play tomorrow. DePaul, Indiana, Penn State, Louisville and Western Michigan will continue to challenge the Cyclones in flights through Sunday afternoon at the West Hills Athletic Club.
