KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Iowa State tennis closed out its fall season when competition at the Western Michigan Super Challenge wrapped up this afternoon. The Cyclones saw singles action against both DePaul and Indiana at WMU's West Hills Athletic Club, and collected 10 wins throughout the weekend.
Today's two other Iowa State wins came from a senior and a freshman. Maria Macedo fought back against DePaul's Patricia Fargas to win her match 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (8), and Caroline Andersen defeated Diana Kyllman, of Indiana, in three sets as well. The Bergen, Norway native clinched the match 6-2, 2-6, 1-0 (8).
The Cyclones will break until January when they resume action at the Florida Gulf Coast Invitational at Ft. Myers, Fla. on Jan. 14. Iowa State will open its home schedule on March 9 against Drake.
