Track & Field Opens Season with Holiday Preview

AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State track and field teams open the 2011-12 indoor season Friday with the annual Holiday Preview meet on the Harry Hoak Track inside the Lied Recreation Center. This marks the first of five home meets the Cyclones will host this season.
For the first time, the Holiday Preview will feature a men's and women's pentathlon, scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. CST. The women's weight throw will kick off the field events which are slated for a 2 p.m. start. Running events are scheduled for a 4 p.m. start beginning with the preliminary heats of the women's 60-meter hurdles.
Teams scheduled to compete alongside the Cyclones include Northern Iowa, Northwest Missouri State, Barone College, UMKC, Hannibal LaGrange, Truman State, William Penn, Drake, Mount Mercy, Northern Illinois, Simpson College, Lincoln University (Mo.) and Nebraska-Omaha.
Results will be posted on cyclones.com at the conclusion of the meet.
