COLLEGE STATION, Texas -Â Iowa State's
Betsy Saina earned All-America honors for the third time in her career and the first time in indoor competition as she ran to a third-place finish in the 5,000-meter run at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships Friday at the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium.Â
The Cyclone women end day one with six team points and are tied for 15th-place.
After doing much of the pacing throughout the 25-lap race, Saina posted a 16:09.12 to finish behind Tennessee's Jackie Areson and Texas' Mia Behm, earning six team points towards the Iowa State women's team score.
In her first trip to the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, freshman
Hannah Willms earned second-team All-America honors by finishing 12th in the high jump after clearing 5-10.
