Duals Will Kick Off At Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Spring tennis season is finally here, and Iowa State is ready to jump into action. The squad's first competition of the season will be played against Minnesota Friday at 6 p.m. in Minneapolis.

Iowa State had a weekend off after playing at the Florida Gulf Coast Invitational, and head coach Armando Espinosa said that the team is ready for tomorrow's dual.

“The matches we played in Florida were good for us,” Espinosa said. “It got us back into a routine after break, but it's going to be nice to go back to team competition.”

The Cyclones started the fall competition against Minnesota in September at the Gopher Invitational, where duo Nikki Reber and Marie-Christine Chartier captured a doubles tournament title. Iowa State is hoping for even more success at the University of Minnesota Baseline Tennis Center

“We need to be ready to go,” Espinosa said. “It's going to be important for us to set the tone of the season and go out and play hard because it's our first match.”
